How the list works without an account
When you create a list you choose the event, the colors and a password. The server keeps only an encrypted fingerprint of the password, never the password itself. When you come back, typing the password opens a session on that browser for two weeks, and the tool shows the buttons to add, edit and remove gifts.
Guests need nothing. They open the link, see the gifts and can reserve one. The reservation is saved on their browser, which is what lets them give a gift back if they change their mind. Nobody, not even you, sees who reserved a gift.
Creating a list asks the browser to solve a small puzzle that takes about a second. A person never notices it, but a script that tries to create thousands of lists pays it every time. On top of that, the service limits how many requests one address can make and locks the password attempts of a list after too many mistakes.
Lists are shared by link and are not listed anywhere. Search engines are asked not to index them, so only the people you send the address to find it. If you ever want it gone, the list settings have a button that deletes the list and all of its gifts for good.

Do I need an account?
No. You choose a password when you create the list and type it again whenever you want to edit. Guests do not need anything.
What if I forget the password?
It cannot be recovered, because only an encrypted fingerprint of it is stored. Open the list on the same browser while the session lasts to change the password, or create a new list.
Why does a gift come without a picture?
Some stores refuse to give pictures to robots. For Amazon links the tool builds the picture from the product code. For other stores, copy the address of the picture in the store and paste it in the picture field.
Does it work with Amazon, Mercado Livre and other stores?
Any link works as a gift. Pages that describe themselves for social networks show their picture, name and price automatically. The rest can be filled in by hand.
Can guests see who reserved a gift?
No. Everybody sees that a gift is reserved, but not by whom. The owner of the list does not see the reservations at all, so the surprise is kept.
How do guests give a reservation back?
On the same browser and device they reserved from, the gift shows a button to give it back. The reservation is tied to that browser.
Can I choose the address of the list?
Yes. Use 3 to 40 letters, numbers and single hyphens. If you leave it empty, the tool creates one from the name, for example ana-e-pedro-k7x2. The address cannot change later because the link was already shared.
Is it protected against abuse?
Yes. Creating a list needs a small automatic puzzle, requests are limited per address, the password cannot be guessed in bulk and the preview of links only opens public pages. Passwords are stored encrypted.
Is it free? Does it expire?
It is free. The page where you create a list may show ads, the lists your guests open do not. A list stays online until you delete it from the list settings.
How many gifts can a list have?
